In this course, students explore cultural and social issues integrating the disciplines and themes
they are pursuing through their general course of study. This
project-based studio expands upon skills acquired in the first year, using a wide variety of design literacies and research methods, including drawing, digital design and prototyping. Students conduct research, using methods of dynamic observation in an effort to focus and sensitize themselves to various people, places and local systems. This will result in individual art and design responses through a hands-on project-based approach. This studio integrates making, reading, writing and research in a way that is
crucial to the practice of social and cultural innovation.
